Hi,
I have 9 months experience in R&D department in Jataayu software - TELEPHONY company But now mind is diverted towards testing. I completed my B.E in Computer Sci. & Engg. with first class. I can confidently say that , "If developement is mind of human , then TESTING is the HEART of human". It's very important thing. So, for on time delivery of products the testing takes a major role with the aid of SDLC (Software Developement Life Cycle). So, I m searching for job in testing rather than R&D , plz let me know abt this if anyone knows abt this.

Hi Shubhangi,
Software testing is the process used to assess the quality of computer software. There are two type of testing methods : 1) Manual 2) Automation.Near about each software company has testing departments dedicated to software testing.Testers job is to see whether the software is working as per the client requirement. There are so many books on this topic.

Hi ,

The Software Testing is very important for today's software products. If Prouct needs to be released within the time frame with planned features then without dedicated testing team , the sucess rate is very low less than 20% for meeting dead lines and budgets. Prouct companies like SAP, Oracle, Microsoft etc are eyeying India as main Testing hub for testing their products.

Regards,
Shivaraj

Hi,
This is Santosh Srivastava, working as a team member of a Process Improvement team of PricewaterHouse Coopers (PwC) Kolkata.
The article is indeed encouraging but I am not sure about the statistics provided, because most of them are fictious then real. One thing I just want to add here is that, software testing is not just "Playing around developers code", rather it is a small part of total Process Implementation and Improvement. Most of the part of the article has been dedicated to the bug finding and fixing which is the last thing, a software tester is entitled to do (My personal openion).
I just want to make sure that the picture drown from the article is partial and veauge. A software tester/PI member needs more in depth knowledge of software engineering and various process used to develop software reather then any member involved in the development.

Thanks!
